Food insecurity among children is a significant problem in our community. Not having enough food to eat can severely impact a child's
physical and cognitive development as well as their education. Approximately 50% of children in the Central Square, New York school
district receive free or reduced price lunch every day they're in school -- but what about the weekends? That's where we come in.
Children enrolled in our program receive a bag of food every Friday that will provide them with two breakfasts, two lunches, and
several snacks to ensure that they get enough to eat over the weekend so that they can be ready to learn on Monday.
To be eligible, a child must be enrolled in the Central Square Central School District and be referred by a staff member. We are
currently helping over 150 students every week, but the need is only growing.
Please consider donating to help children in our community get enough to eat so they can have a bright future.
